Freedom of Entry – HMAS Melbourne in Melbourne & Open Day

Melbourne will exercise Freedom of Entry along Swanston Street with the saluting dais at the Melbourne Town Hall. A must see occasion for the Navy fraternity and other members of the ADF to demonstrate support for the RAN and their role in maintaining our sovereign borders.
HMAS Melbourne Open Day – Port Melbourne
Following the Freedom of the city on Saturday the guided missile frigate, HMAS Melbourne (III), will be visiting her namesake city of Melbourne, Victoria . It is the last time it visits Melbourne before the ship’s decommissioning later this year. The ship will welcome the public to come aboard and tour the last Adelaide class frigate to serve with the Royal Australian Navy. HMAS Melbourne will be open to the public on Sunday 15th September from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs at Station Pier, Port Melbourne.
