As many of you would know WO2 Dave Mills is working on the Army Museum Puckapunyal (AMP) to build up the Artillery display. This includes moving pieces from Bandiana and a lot of restoration work
One of the key items is a German WWII 88mm ant-aircraft gun that proved to be very effective as an anti-tank gun, particularly in the desert campaigns. This has been part of the Tank Museum for some time.
Dave has shared a Battlefield Forensic report for this gun, referred to as the “Puckapunyal Gun”. We’ve uploaded it to the website and can be accessed at https://artilleryvic.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/88mm.pdf. It makes for a very interesting read.
We’re looking forward to seeing this when the museum opens in 2025.
Hardly wait to visit, this amazing work undertaken by Dvid and his team.
